Why do you need to cleanse your Crystals?
Have you ever not had a shower for a week and felt like you really need to freshen up? Well crystals are the same, crystals absorb energies and vibrations from the surrounding environment, so it's important to cleanse them as you may absorb the negative energies from the crystal.
Here are some common methods to cleansing your crystals:
Crystals can be placed under running water from a tap or river and you can also use spring water. You must make sure to use crystals that don't dissolve in water before using this method as it's not suitable for all types of crystals.
One of my favourite ways to cleanse crystals is to leave them in moonlight outside or on your window sill for a few hours, even overnight and the crystals will be cleansed and charged. It's preferable to do this when it's a full moon for a more powerful effect.
Another brilliant way to cleanse your crystals is to place them in the sun, on your window sill or place outside, you must make sure the crystal wont fade and take care the sun rays are not focused in a way to start a fire. Some examples of crystals that don't fade in the sun are Malachite, Howlite, Lapis Lazuli, Jade, Labradorite.
I know many people who cleanse their crystals this way and it's extremely effective when you have no other methods around. To do this you imagine the crystal surrounded by intense light, which cleanses the crystal. You can also hold the crystal in your hand and with your other hand circle around the crystal visualizing light over the crystal.
You can use salt to cleanse your crystals by placing them in a bowl with salt overnight and in the morning make sure to wipe off the salt and they are ready to go.
Now you know the common ways to cleanse your crystals. Every time you cleanse your crystals, you should hold the intention of flushing away the absorbed energies so the crystal can return to it's natural state and also visualize what you wish the crystal to do for you.
